Newsletter - March 2023

Hello Ladies!

Well I've already failed with the New Year resolutions! That is updating the newsletter every couple of weeks!! Anyway here I am and talk about starting the year with a bang!! Our patchwork classes are out of control which is brilliant!

We are all stocked up with flannels - whatever you're after I can just about guarantee we'll have it!! I'm making a sample at the moment with the Fall Melody flannels - I've cut up the panel and making a log cabin block ...... ok, so its still evolving! I have received a big delivery of soft pastels - Little Lambies - so that'll be my next sample! I need to get a move on and get them finished before we attend the Australian Quilt Convention starting 13th April. Did you see if you buy your tickets online they are a little cheaper than buying them on the day.

Over the past couple of years I have become a collector of lots of different vintage sewing tools, exquisite hand stitched doilies and cloths and even some beautiful hand made nighties! I have a collection that were my mothers - including her old Singer sewing machine that she got in 1950! As ladies in our area here are downsizing, they very generously give me their treasures, which I then use in displays - I absolutely love it!! I've got a gazillion photo's to add to our gallery, and hope to get to that job in the next few weeks.

I have a lot of quilts that have been donated to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. They are all in the front window at the moment. As you probably know we have a very special group of ladies who come in once a fortnight to make items that we sell to raise money all year round. If you're going to the Garden Show in a couple of weeks, make sure you look out for the R.C.H. Auxilliary stand upstairs at the Exhibition Buildings in Carlton Gardens. There are lots of goodies to buy there apart from plants!

Take care,

Therese
